After two months of remote collaboration, the CultTech Lab participants gathered in Linz for a three-day hybrid camp — a space for co-creation, play, and peer learning. This wasn’t a traditional residency. It was a
Research Playground, where technology and art met through
embodied experiences, critical reflection, and collaborative exploration.
The camp was hosted in collaboration with the
Circus of Knowledge —
a transdisciplinary learning space based at Johannes Kepler University Linz. Known for blending performance, philosophy, and play, the Circus offered an
ideal setting to test ideas beyond disciplinary borders.
This was the first in-person moment for teams — and
the first time residents presented their prototypes. The Camp became a moment of exposure and rich exchange: artists received multilayered feedback that helped them see their work from new angles, while tech partners had the chance to observe their tools in action — stretched, reinterpreted, and reimagined in unexpected ways.
