We invite creative teams to apply for the
CultTech Residence, a collaborative program exploring performative works which integrate new technologies.
The program is organized by CultTech Association, in collaboration with leading tech companies, offering their solutions for creative industries.

Who can apply?
Artists, collectives,
and interdisciplinary teams
proposing projects in performance,
digital arts, immersive storytelling,
and related fields.
  • Projects must integrate technology in a way that directly enhances their artistic value.
    The involved technology should be chosen from the list of Residence technological partners
  • Applicants may suggest technologies outside our list if they have direct contact with the developer’s team

What we expect:
  • A productive collaboration between tech solution providers and creative teams throughout our Educational Program (interactive online lectures/workshops led by tech experts and producers)
  • 6 project sketches to be highlighted at the Summit discussion panel with tech companies' representatives
  • 2 selected and developed performative project sketches, ready for full-scale development, performed at the CultTech Summit in Vienna
Program Structure:
All qualified teams
Will get access to the online CultTech Residence Educational Program
6 teams
Will be selected by an Expert Jury for participation in the CultTech Lab.
CultTech Lab teams will develop their performative projects jointly with mentors from tech companies and creative producers
3 teams
While the CultTech LAB will run online, three of the six teams will be selected for an in-person CultTech Lab Camp.
All CultTech Lab teams
6 performative sketches will be presented online to an Expert artistic jury
2 teams
2 performative sketches will be selected for further production development, the winning teams will receive a 3.000 euro production grant and will perform at the CultTech Summit 2025 in Vienna.
All other CultTech Lab projects will be presented and discussed at the Summit in a dedicated panel.

Results of Jury Selection

The jury will define the qualified teams who will get access to our exclusive Educational Program.
The jury selects 6 teams for participation in CultTech Lab for the further development of proposed project ideas. Each selected team receives a €300 seed grant as a project development support.

Teams attend online program lectures and participate in interactive workshops led by tech experts and producers.

CulTech Lab Camp
3 teams are invited to a 5 days in-person CultTech Lab Camp to experience focused creative work, personalized technical mentorship sessions and collaborative exchanges with fellow artists.

Online Pitching
All teams in the CultTech Lab pitch their performative project sketches (up to 10 minutes) online to demonstrate potential for further development.

Final Selection for Production & Presentation

How to Apply
Submit your application through our online form by April 15, 2025. Applications should include:
  • A short project proposal demonstrating:
    - strong artistic vision
    - feasibility and potential for further development,
    - a clear understanding of the required technological input. A short video pitch outlining your project concept.
  • Proposed timeline of your project development aligned with the CultTech Residence timeframes.
  • A justification for the chosen technology—whether from our partners or one you propose—explaining its relevance and impact on creative expression.
    If you use the technology outside our partners list, please explain your access potential to the people from this company.
  • Current stage of project development.
  • A brief team introduction, including bios, a portfolio, and links to previous works.
